Bacon Finnegan 

The first book in The Artifacts of Merlin Saga is titled Bacon Finnegan:  The Sword of Fire and is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2013.  The Sword of Fire is one of seven artifacts of Merlin that are hidden throughout the universe.  Above is the image of the sword that I had envisioned in my mind. I want to show you the progression creating it.  It was a lot of fun.

First, I drew the sword and scanned it.

Then I used an image manipulation program and cartoonized it
making the lines darker.

Then, I added color and shading making the handle gold
and the blade silver.
I aslo added the blue jem and the Decnalab fire symbol.

Then I added a blue shaded background.

I added some blue flames.

Then I cropped the image so it was centered.

There you have it!
